Sonntag, 19.03.2006 - 11:20:50 Wechsel der Software I'll switch to a new blogging software next week, due to more than 100 spam comments during the last week and the fact that my old version of Sunlog hasn't got a spam protection. I'll change the look of my blog, as well (I don't like it the way it looks right now - and haven't for quite a while), but it's completely possible that sometimes things will look completely weird. I really am kind of afraid of what weird things might happen, considering that I haven't got a clue about CSS and used to rely completely on my knowledge of HTML. But for using WordPress I'll have to change that. Which in fact I tried once but failed completely. And did I mention that I don't like sewing? Well, I'll knit on so that I'll be "allowed" to sew reeeally soon! ;) Asamandra | link | 15:50:39 | TrackBack (0) | --- | Gestricktes | Artikel versenden Weiter geht's mit dem Winterpulli ![]() I managed to conquer my aversion against orange! ;) Yesterday I finished the back of the pullover (22 row) and knitted 14 rows of the first sleeve. It's boring, k2 p2 ribbing, but on the other hand it's a quick knit. I've still got to knit the two rows on the one side of the front which I somehow managed to forget. As you can see on the picture, I still need to weave in the ends. I resolved finishing the pullover until the end of next week, which is doable thanks to Schachenmayr Boston and needle size 7 (metric). I can't really give an exact answer, there are so many different kinds of yarn I like. They're all soft, though, and the needle size matters a lot to me, as well as colours. I prefer orange and green to blue and pink, which is why the latter are usually knitted much more slowly. I really don't like black, even though in my opinion Ive got good eyes, I can't see a thing with black yarn. When there's twillight, it's the end of knitting black. I've knitted a winter pullover in August, it wasn't too much fun, but still it was doable. I wonder if I can continue working on my pullover made of Schachenmayr Boston again? The weather is still ideal for that... ;) Asamandra | link | 11:07:47 | TrackBack (0) | --- | Gefragtes | Artikel versenden Donnerstag, 16.03.2006 - 14:28:12 Donnerstagssocken Woche 11/06 ![]() Details: Garn: Keine Ahnung Größe: 40/41 mit 64 Maschen Muster: Korbmuster (versetztes Waffelmuster) Empfänger: meine Schwester Dani I can't remember what the name of the yarn is - I swapped it a while ago. It's a bit thicker than the yarns I usually use, and I really liked it. My sister liked the socks a lot, and so I gave them to her. Asamandra | link | 19:46:17 | TrackBack (0) | --- | Gestricktes | Artikel versenden Freitag, 10.03.2006 - 22:08:08 Abo-Knäuel Needing a present urgently, I'm started knitting the blue ball from my Opal subscription. (It's the upper one in the middle on the picture.) It's quite nice even without a pattern, the size is easy - I'm in the middle of the gusset decreases of the second sock, having started yesterday evening that's not bad. No, it's not a child's size. But still I was slightly annoyed when after two knots within two metres from each other sudenly the colours were the wrong way. So now I've got the ball of yarn in a bowl underneath my table because otherwise it would roll around in my apartment. The rest will be knit into hats and socks for preemies. Each sock will have two colours at most, but at least I won't have to look at matching colours. And - Andrea and I will be knitting hats and socks for preemies for our local hospital. I'm tired. That's what you get if you crawl out of bed at five in the morning just because your boyfriend (well, "boy"...) is going to the Cebit (the fair for computer, mobile phone and technical gadgets of all kinds here in Germany). I could've gone back to bed during the day, but I just wasn't tired then... ![]() Details: Garn: Schachenmayr Uni bzw. Schachenmayr Mini Ringel Größe: 28/29 mit 52 Maschen Muster: 2 rechts, 2 links Empfänger: Auftrag This week, I've got two pairs of socks because I've already finfished a pair for next week and because one of these is tiny and boring. ;) Pair number one is for me. I called them Harlequin socks, because the pattern reminded me of harlequins and because I knitted them during carnival (Saturday to Monday). They are a bit tight, but it will work. Pair number two was ordered, to make sure both of them really look the same I knitted the cuff in another colour. It's a plain k2, p2 ribbing, nothing special. Asamandra | link | 14:25:58 | TrackBack (0) | --- | Gestricktes | Artikel versenden Mittwoch, 08.03.2006 - 09:35:40 Fortschritte The socks in child size that someone ordered - done. Turquoise coloured socks with "weaving" pattern - ripped 6 rounds, knitted the toe and sewed up lose ends - so done, as well. Pink socks in a German pattern (called "Fetzenmuster", which means "Frazzles pattern") - cast on, did the picot edging and 12 rounds of the pattern. So I earned the right to cast on a new sock with my subscription yarn! ;) Asamandra | link | 09:35:40 | TrackBack (0) | --- | Gestricktes | Artikel versenden Dienstag, 07.03.2006 - 09:04:36 Die verstrickte Dienstagsfrage - Woche 10/2006 Today the wooly question is: If you were cast away on a lonely island, with only one piece of knitting in your bag, whould you rather finish and wear it or tear it apart and keep on reknitting it? It's the old process vs. product thing. I fear I'm a process type of woman, I just like knitting. It's not unimportant to have something to wear in the end but it's not the main reason - which you can see by looking at my mountains of UFOs! ;) So, to answer the question: I'd rip it. And try a new pattern every time, because otherwise I'd lack the diversity I usually have by chosing different materials, needle sizes and colours.
